What's happening is clutch isn't engaging. Input-shaft of transmission is disconnected from engine because pressure-plate is "hung up" on outside of clutch-hub. Due to raised and lowered section of outer-edge of clutch-hub, pressure-plate only has 2-orientations that work, even though it appears there's 4. So it's not pressing on clutch-plates and squeezing them together.

Did you line up dimple on pressure-plate with dimple on clutch-basket?
