Do you mean one of my 90 cubic foot tanks? They last for quite a while. I think it's been over a year since I exchanged one. When I was making 2-stroke expansion chambers for Kaw triples, I went through a 300 cubic foot tank every couple of months.
I see that it's about 70 miles for you to get to Redding. That's like me going to Raleigh for supplies, which I have to do occasionally. You should work out what it costs for the various ways you can get argon, because I suspect you're way better off buying a tank or two that you can exchange than buying full tanks for one-time use.
