You're close, real close! There's a saying about 9MM bullets and how they can expand to almost 1/2". Jeff Cooper (Gunsight Fame) always said, in response, "Yeh, but my .45 ACPs are a little slower, but they START at 1/2" and EXPAND." Big and slow with a lot of knockdown power. But enough on history lessons.
