^^^ Hahhah that's a great smiley. I didn't mind decreasing the trail (it quickens up steering to put it in easy phrasing), but I didn't want to sacrifice stability. That's why going down about 5/8" seemed kosher. Going down the full inch would fully expose the fork tubes for the clip-ons, but like I said they are TALL clip-ons. They are on there and aren't going anywhere and possibly affecting stability to make the clip-ons fully mount doesn't seem necessary.
