It started by keeping my bike in my bro's garage and the only time I could get a chance to practice was after visiting the gf after work so that meant a chance for a ride around 10 to 11pm.
Now, I am used to riding at night - 80% of my riding is at night. I won't ride Fri or Sat night - but I will ride Sat or Sun during the day if I have the opportunity. I esp avoid rush hour on weekdays.
The upside of riding at night - less traffic, cooler temps, vacant parking lots for practice. The downside - a lot less visibility thus requiring much more caution, more deer out and about.
