To put it lower you have to make the shift link longer, therefore undoing the actually shifter itself on the right handside of the link will lower it. To do this, remove the 1 bolt that keeps the shifter connected to the rearset, loosen the nut on the shift link connecting the shifter to the link, and twist the shifter anti-clockwise to undo the shifter. Make sure you leave enough thread on the shifter so that it doesn't come loose, if you're finding that there isn't enough thread, undo the shift link attached to the front sprocket side a few turns. Also, remember to re-tighten the nut on the shift link to the shifter itself. Play with it for a bit, and hopefully you can get your perfect shifter position.
