Theoretically too 100 miles might be more than you need to ease them. Leaning at lower speeds to scrub the edges will work too. I think they go with 100 miles just figuring in that amount of time you will get the tires worked pretty well, straights, lefts, rights. And since riding is so much fun 100 miles comes and goes quick anyway.
