I wanted to see what other folks were using first. I looked at a Toshiba Portege R705 and it was very nice. I didn't like the sound quality (same with my netbook), but when do I sit around listening to it without being plugged into head phones or a sound bar. They had one at the store sitting right next to a VAIO and they looked almost identical and the specs were almost identical.
The price was $750 for the TOSHI and $1700 for the SONY.
A thousand bucks is a gettin' crazy with the Cheez Whiz.
