I've put puppies at 8 weeks old on a 15 hour flight from Germany. After the trip in the fly box for that long, they love the box. It becomes a safe haven for them.
It also helps to take the puppy out in the yard every hour to hour and a half for the first few days. Make a big deal when it makes #1 or #2 in the yard, and go back in the house. After 3 days, if it makes in the house, that's your fault.

Good luck.
+1. always remember that crate training will be and is your best friend. I swear by them and my digs love them. They are trained to run when we need to leave the house and get treats for it. It's a godsend!
