Ok, I took some pics when I got to work showing these leds:

Bulb Size: T10 / 194
LEDs: 4 SMD
LED Type: 3528 (1210 SMD)
Brightness: 28 lumens (7 lumens per SMD)
Color: Bright White (slightly blue, probably about 5000k)

So these things are pretty bright and without a lens they spread the light out in a forward cone.

They use the same 3528 LEDs as the vleds ones posted by Natalie so if you do the math the brightness of the Vled 5xsmds is actually 35 lumens. vleds uses a product made by Dongguan Nordy Car Light Co.,Ltd in China and the claimed 50lumens is for the version that uses a 5050 SMD (equal to 3x more 3528SMDs) on the top. But if you know your LEDs and look at the pictures of the product you can clearly see that they are only using 3528 SMDs.

For comparison regular 5mm LEDs are about 5 lumens each and the round lens on the end focuses that light to a small area. Sorry I used to be a flashaholic so I can really get into talking about lighting...
