Tail lights are a state by state issue, I know most guys here in New Mexico have their plates WAY tucked under, with no plate lights at all, but I am of the mind why give the police a reason to pull you over, I got some led License plate bolts that light my plate nicely, they were very similar to what you looked up. I have no problem with them at all.
