I have had this happen a couple of times. I am pretty sure that I am just not completing the ankle move completely. It usually happens when I am lazily going into 6th just puttering along, and I don't use as much force. Just rolled over 100 mi today on my bike.
Or maybe it is just the black ones. They gave us an extra neutral....lol
