welcome! i personally don't look at gas prices or mpg. i'm gonna ride the bike anyway and it's out of my hands, although a honda rebel shouldn't be in anyones future (she should have gone Virago for 250 cruiser.) if you can afford a bike for a better commute you shouldn't worry about 4-5 bucks extra per week on gas. luck with what you decide, knowing the ninja is the only way to go and all.
