If you are a legally licensed rider, then i dont see what the principal has anything to say about it. Your principal has no guardian or legal authority to tell you what vehicle you can or cannot operate. Thats between you, the state, your guardian, and the DMV.
The principal should stick with what they were hired to do and manage students, pencils, and paper and stay out of your choice of vehicles. If the principle cant handle that then maybe he/she should rethink the choice of job and go work for the DMV instead.
I wouldnt explain anything, id tell him/her that i will be riding a motorcycle to school, and thats the end of it.
