I'm definitely interested in this thread, as I'm doing her's in red/fuschia testing out my 4 test strips. Don't have nearly as many LED's as you, only 40 tops, but I only bought them to try and find the best placement for max light diffusion and coverage through the fairing side vents. Then I'll probably get more to increase brightness. Any good placement recommendations? Also let me know how good those work, especially if you got 400 LED's for only $20!
Edit: How long would a set of say ~200 LED's take to drain the battery if they did get left on? I'm clueless about most electronics, but I can wire things to other things with usually no problem, so I don't know much about how much it takes to drain a battery, except incandescents in cars ... stuck in a bad bad part of town...
