Almost got this fast rack instead but I didn't like how it would look by itself like that either. There's always a compromise I suppose.

The thing about the fast rack is that it's basically just a piece of metal strapped to your passenger seat. You could just as well skip that and strap whatever you want to the passenger seat. That's what I still have on my bike in addition to the sidecases now. Works great. I've also realized that if you carry one of those collapsable duffle bags in the trunk, you could open it up and strap it to the passenger seat pretty easily and looks a little better than the fast pack. Fast pack is a neat idea but I think it's look and execution could probably be better and definitely cheaper.
