A disk lock with an alarm. I figure this is a minor deterrent, but will also (hopefully) alert me if someone is stealing my bike outside my house so I can dial 999 (it's the British 911). The XENA XZZ6 ALARMED DISK LOCK looks ok to me.

Yes the steering lock is standard. Locking the steering will prevent thieves from rolling your bike up a ramp into a truck.
If you have a garage I suggest clearing out a space to park your bike.
