I just don't like the permanent mounting or the high up in the air position of the high box. I don't plan on having another person on my bike because that would overload the weight limit.

Do a search on hardcases and you'll find that a few members have mounted hardcases directly onto the passenger seat. I warn you though, the passenger locking mechanism isnt rated to hold a top case and can fall off. Other members have lost their rear cowl like that. If I were to go that route, which I might, I would use some kind of 2ndary lock/straps/bungees just in case. The idea is out there, see if you can come up with a DIY for the rest of us. If you're looking for a commercial version then no I do not believe there is one yet.
