According to Floyd's chart, cheap leather is worse that a 2 year old pair of jeans. So be careful what you buy. Not all leather is the same. CE approved armor does not mean CE approved Leather.

Also, buy something appropriate for your climate. Full leather is too hot in the summer here and people just go without and leave it in the closet. You're better off with mesh in that case because its cooler even though mesh isn't as good as high grade leather.
