The US has the most amount of obese people and it's because we have such easy access to junk food. If you ate 3 lbs of candy bars in a day, you would get much fatter than if you ate 3 lbs of veggies. Junk/fast food is also cheaper than healthy food for the most part. If someone is trying to save money, it's easy to get filled up on 3 $1 burgers vs. eating a small $3 salad.
I'm not trying to defend obesity, but I think the article is a failure.
