I agree with this 100%. I was having some trouble with the throttle returning to idle and with the idle RPM being consistent. All the problems went away after properly lubing the throttle cable, throttle return cable, and the linkages on the carb bodies.

I use the Protect All clamp-on cable lubing adaptor with LPS-2 lubricant for lubing cables. (I have used LPS-2 and LPS-3 extensively for decades on aircraft hinges and cables. Use LPS-2 for cables and linkages. Use LPS-3 for hinges and fixed fasteners you want to protect from water incursion so you can take them apart again later.)
