some people find that having solid pegs gives you a better feel for the bike instead of the rubber ones which feel soft. For me they also gave me a little more foot room between the peg and shifter/brake. You can kinda see it in the pics. Also alot of (if not all) aftermarket rear sets and supersport bikes have solid pegs so there must be an advantage over the rubber ones.
