If you took the Military version of the MSF safety class, DMV won't accept that. I took the MSF version at the Portsmouth Harley Davidson location and that was accepted by DMV. All I had to do was take the 10 question mandatory test (don't get any wrong) on street signs and then turn in my motorcycle permit with the training certificate and I got my "M" endorsement. This was in 2006 so something could have changed but I don't think so. If anything, DMV wants to turn over the testing portion to the MSF so they (DMV) can get out of that business.

Since I work on base I had to take the Military's Experienced Riders Course (they waived the BSC since I had previously taken that) and the Sports Bike Riders Course.
