If the helmet's still under warranty you can usually send it back and the manufacturer will replace that button at no charge, except for shipping. If not warrantied, most manufacturers will still replace it for a nominal fee. Since the helmet's scratched, however, you'd just be wasting your money since you should probably get a new one soon. A zip tie or rubber band will work as good in the meantime. You should be wary of any damage that exposes anything under the finish. Better safe than sorry.
