when just riding around town you cant tell if its running differently, but when on the highway i could definitely feel a flat spot in the mid to upper range RPM band, especially under hard acceleration. also, you can tell my the small of the exhaust and also by the color that is left on the inside of the exhaust tip. the bike was surely running lean. i then shimmed with 3 washers and it was too rich
...then 2 washers and things are a lot better
