I had an 05 fz6 half fairing. It left a little to be wanted. The throttle was really jerky in low RPM, but I know they've fixed that with the new ones. I also felt really cramped on it, and Im not a big guy, maybe i was looking for more of a standard bike and it was a little bit more aggressive than I wanted. I would say if you want to upgrade then check it out. Test drive it and go from there. Thats the good things about bikes, they are "relatively" inexpensive and you can trade around.
