However Alex is correct, the gas cap only uses the front ~2/3 of the ignition key, so if you use the 'pattern' from there, it won't work in the ignition because you're missing that bit next to the base of the key. I fairly sure the same is true of the rear seat lock but will have to confirm (doesn't use all of the key).

In short, all three locks (ignition, helmet/trunk and gas cap) use the same key but the only lock that uses 100% of the key is the ignition.
