Alright, I figured it out. It was actually a mix of problems. I sandpapered the ground to ensure it had a good seating and it started to kind of work, but it was acting weird. I double checked the wiring and found that the red wire in the diode kit broke off of the little metal tab thing, but it was kind of sort of touching it, so I fixed it. Then I pulled off the 9-pin connector, made sure everything looked alright, and when I plugged it back in the blue wire broke from the little metal thingy. I thought to myself "you have got to be ****ing kidding me" and then I fixed that. Afterwards I tested it and it now works perfectly
