Very glad you're OK. As you're well aware, there are parts of Salmon Falls Road where a crash at an unfortunate location would be much more severe; sounds like you found a place with a little run-off at least...

EDIT: My bad, I'm thinking of Salmon River Rd, I'm not familiar with Salmon Falls Road near Sac. Salmon River Rd. up in Forks of Salmon, CA is along a sheer cliff for much of it, and a misplaced wheel will have the bike and rider falling a couple hundred feet before hitting anything.
