Jason, excuse me when I correct you, but from what I've learned idle hang is rich condition.
And one information, but I'm not sure if its correct for your ninjettes in the USA. Here in Thailand we have 91 octane benzine only and that's to compare with your 87. So I'm using the Factorypro Ignition advancing what means I run my ignition with static 5 more degrees than factory build (15° at 1300 rpm and 43° at 6000 rmp) and I don't hear knocking or anything else. Now I always ride with one gear lower to have higher revs, because that's much more fun then before. The engine of my ninjette is reving really aggressive now. The only thing I don't know is if it is rich enough because here we don't have a dyno, but I'm using the Fast Fuel-System from Leovince with their mapping and hope it's ok so.
One indicator for a wrong setup in ignition is when the engine's getting hot and my engines temperature now is lower then before, so i think it must be good - ha ha
