I think it was a Car & Driver video, or something similar, and they said on a tight twisty track they "thought" it could compete. Considering the CBR starts with less HP they would never be able to "make-up" that difference as the Ninja would always have more going mod for mod. It does setup some interesting racing though, with one bike being better in the tighter technical sections and the other being better on the more open sections.
If someone doesn't repost the video we're talking about before I get home from work, I'll do it just for reference and it was kind of cool.
