. Make sure you have good tires on your bike as most people who buy bikes have no idea how old their tires are. Just because they have plenty of tread doesn't mean they're new. You can look at the dot number on your tire's side wall and look at the last 4 numbers. the first 2 numbers mean the week in the year and the last 2 is the year. Tires become hard as the oils seep out of the rubber and exposure to heat and sunlight causes them to dry rot.
