On Saturday was driving on some back roads in PA. Crested a hill in 4th, see a minivan that had pulled over in a driveway to a farm. She looks like she wants to make a U-turn, I watch her eyes, she never looks back, and starts to pull into the lane. I was watching her so I expected it, I hit the horn, she doesn't hear it. I hit the horn some more, she still keeps coming. She's blocking my lane and half of the oncoming lane now, I lay on the horn, slide in front of her and keep going.
Didn't really hit me until a couple miles down the road but if there was oncoming traffic it would have ruined my whole day. I made a lot of mistakes. By trusting another driver to see me I passively hoped that that would be enough. As soon as I saw her and I knew she didn't see me I should have started to emergency brake immediately. I should have proactively looked after my own safety.
