Although from what it seems, the new Ninja 300 will be plenty more highway capable than the previous generation 250. I don't have any personal experience with it, but if you want to keep the 250's awesome light-handling characteristics but add a little more highway peace-of-mind, I'd recommend the 300. I like to have even a little more still, so I went with the 650! Plus... you can get a previous-gen 650 for a lot less cash than a new 300.
