A proper shift light will be bright enough to see in peripheral vision. It will be set to light up just before peak power. So you shift at peak power and have no wasted time/energy/power. Ideal for all out racing.
I will not be racing. I thought I needed to get rid of an idiotic eco light. Thought a shift light would be a fun thing to replace it with. Now I know the "light" is just a eco symbol that flashes on the LCD.
My new goal is to have someone reprogram my LCD to flash a frowny face when in eco mode!

I was 85% kidding with that comment. and 15% hopping you weren't staring down your entire ride waiting on a light to turn on so you can shift. haha
