First day I road my 250 home (my bike has no fairings) I was telling myself you are going way to fast it felt like my head was just getting punched repeatedly. Look down 15mph ahhhhh yeah.

I was only scared to go WOT when I was taking the MSF course but now I'm like dang this thing only does 90?

I also think it is weird to ride a road you haven't ridden in awhile when you have improved a great deal. At first you remember the road ahead as super difficult and then you actually start riding it and it usually feels easy and trivial.
