My 2007 has rolled over 24K miles.
These things are built to be working, and this one has remained steady for long periods.
That inactivity induces internal/external rust, corrosion (from fluids that go bad with time), dirty carburetors, hardened seals and hardened tires.

Hope you got a bike in good condition and I would recommend a full service, including replacement of all fluids.
