I performed an interesting 'test' this morning on my commute. And not on purpose. I have loud pipes, so when I take off in the morning I have gotten into a habit of coasting downhill a few blocks occasionally so I'm not starting the bike right next to the same houses every time I ride. I usually pop the clutch to get the bike started. Works slick and kinda fun.
Anywho, I popped the 'ole clutch this morning with the temperature below 50 degrees for the first time, instead of rolling the wheel and starting, the tire just skidded along.
It was no big deal, but a surprise for this relatively inexperienced rider. Good lesson in being careful on cold days.
