It's actually in every gear. It's like the throttle jumps from 0 to 5% throttle. You can finely control the rest of the throttle range but that chunk is missing. It can make coasting pretty annoying and so I find myself rolling with the clutch in like I often did on my ninja 650.

I prefer to take my 250 in the twisties where I like to coast/maintain speed through turns
