Tries to blind pass, realizes he can't and panic brakes while still leaned over. I don't think he could have avoided a crash after putting himself in that position no matter what he did though. The only possible way to save it would be to stay up and go through the small space between the van and the car he went under but I can't tell from the video if there was enough space anyway.
