So - wanted people to be able to fix their uber-wide images quickly and easily. Yes, you can always load it as an attachment here and it will auto-resize it then, but that takes a couple steps. If you have a link to a large image elsewhere, and you just want to use the normal [ IMG ] code to link it, all you need to do is click the resize button:
, which will put [ RESIZE ] [ /RESIZE ] tags around whatever you selected. This will resize the image to 1024 px wide, no matter how large the original was.
The person viewing the page still has to download the full file size, but at least it won't futz up the page view anymore. Here's what it looks like:
