I got road rash through my jacket on my recent lowside, I feel like I'd be in a hospital bed with an arm that would take months to heal since the rash would have likely pierced some muscle.
I also have some scarring from mountain biking as a kid, them rocks can cut deep. Never fell off of a road bicycle though *thumbs crossed*
