I installed that chain with the clip link. No issues at all. I used a small tywrap tho. I had the same problem as you. No chain breaker. I've been meaning to buy one to install a rivet type master but since I haven't had any problems, I've been holding off. I know thats not a smart way to rationalize it, but that's what's happening lol
