Top speed of a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is 120mph with the 3.55 gear ratio or 129 with the 3.27 gear ratio. Post-2006 Interceptors were supposedly limited to 140mph. If it's a lonely officer in a smaller jurisdiction by himself sitting on the side of the road with no air support and somebody blows by doing 150, the chances of catching the speeder are not good. Is it worth the risk to the public? Individual department policy and officer discretion will come in to play in the decision to pull out and attempt to catch up or just stay put and get on the radio.
I'd fully expect an officer to pull me over if I was doing 100-110. A rider doing 150 raises interesting questions and may require different tactics.
