[visordown.com] - Yamaha R25 reaches almost 110mph

AN Indian website is reporting that the YZF-R25 is capable of hitting speeds over 100mph.

Pictures of the R25 dash on MotorBeam show the speedo reading 173kph (107.5mph) at 12,500rpm, 1,500rpm short of the redline.

The 249cc sports bike has a steel frame and weighs 166kg, making 35.5hp and 16.7lbft from its parallel-twin engine, only 3.5hp less than the larger-capacity Kawasaki Ninja 300.

It’s rival, the Honda CBR250R, is said to top out short of the ton, and with Yamaha expected to bring in a 300cc R3 version for Europe, it wouldn’t be mad to assume that an indicated 115mph is within the realms of possibility for the new bike.
