Unfortunately if I have no cellular signal or the battery is dead it won't act like one. It has a tracer in it in the case that it is lost or stolen (as a feature) and I'm not the only one who has the ability to use said tracer. I typically head out with a fully charged battery though when I go out on pleasure rides
