What were those?

In my experience, when forced to roll over uneven pavement, sand, grass or gravel, trying to adopt a vertical position, a straight line trajectory and slowing down with engine and rear brake only, usually works better than trying to swerve to sort the obstacles or using the front brake.

Running into potholes can ruin your wheels, but seldom make you fall, unless you are turning and leaning.
