This was some odd years back but a snowy owl was photographed just 8 miles from my home. Super rare round these parts.... but had the bird watchers straight trippin' for about 2 weeks trying to get close enough for the money shot of the bird sitting on a solo pole in the middle of a field.

Oh, I followed this closely because, as some of you know. I have been attacked by owls 3 times in my life. They hate me for some reason. Holy ****, I can't stop looking at that picture!!!
I've posted this here before I think, but this was a rare encounter with a Barred Owl...I ran into him twice in one day and spent an incredible half hour with him only feet away. Pretty meaningful experience.
