Thanks! There are risks in either choice. Rebuilding is more risky for me. I don't have any experience putting an engine back together. What if for some reason I can't get a good seal when I put the case back together. I won't know till the whole engine is back together. That's a lot of work to find out my engine will always leak oil. Now I'm sure that may not happen. But what if. At least if I buy a used engine with like a guarantee that it will work fine, I can get some of my money back (hopefully) if it turns out it has problems.
I trust the robots that built these engines more than I trust myself. It's as simple as that.
But I'm sure I will eventually rebuild my engine anyways just to see if I can.
