My mirrored visor for my bell apex helmet is holding up fairly well. If you hit a few bugs and try to wipe them off they will smudge (more than a clear visor) and possibly mess up your vision, I haven't had any problems after I stopped trying to wipe the bugs off with my hand though.

You definitely want to bring a clear visor with you at all times, there is very poor visibility at night. I forgot a clear visor once and rode home at dusk, had to ride with the visor open when it got completely dark. Ill never forget that again...
